Privacy policy

1. Summary

• No account, no sign-up, no email address requested.
• Your settings, progress and reminders stay in the app’s local storage.
• Nothing is sent to an Unbrace server: there is none.
• No ads, no trackers, no usage statistics, no selling of data.
• Purchases go through Apple and RevenueCat; Unbrace never sees your payment details.
• Demo videos are played from an external host, and the app checks for updates with Expo. These are the only network requests.

2. Data controller

The data controller is the publisher of Unbrace, identified in the legal notice. Contact: contact@unbraceapp.com.

3. Data kept on the device

The app keeps locally, and only to run: the language, the audio mode (voice or silent) and the beep timbre, whether haptics are on, the place chosen for the day and your usual place, your history of completed sessions (routine and date), the ongoing session so it can be resumed, the time of your daily reminder if you enabled it, and the routine that used your free session of the day.

This data never leaves the device. You can erase all of it from Settings, Data section (“Reset my data”). It also disappears with uninstallation.

Depending on your iOS settings, Apple may include this storage in an iCloud backup or a device transfer; the publisher has no access to it. The home-screen widget reads this same data on the device, without transmitting it.

4. Video playback

Demo videos are streamed from the Bunny delivery network (BunnyWay d.o.o., Slovenia). To deliver a video, the host processes the usual technical details of a request: your IP address, the requested URL, the device type, and short-lived technical logs.

The app adds no cookie, advertising identifier or profile to these requests. Without a connection, no request is made and the session continues with the artwork and the timer. Videos already played may be kept in the device cache to avoid downloading them again.

5. Guidance voice

The guidance voices are recordings bundled in the app; they play on the device, with no network request. If a recording is missing, iOS speech synthesis takes over, also on the device. Nothing that is read aloud is sent to the publisher.

6. Purchases and subscription

Displaying prices, purchasing, restoring and verifying the Unbrace+ subscription go through Apple (StoreKit) and through RevenueCat, Inc. (United States), which manages access rights on the publisher’s behalf.

RevenueCat receives from Apple what it needs: a random customer identifier created by the app, the receipt or the subscription status (product, start, renewal and expiry dates, App Store country), the platform and the app version. Apple also notifies it of status changes (renewal, cancellation, refund, billing issue). No name, email or payment method is sent to Unbrace or to RevenueCat.

This data serves only to activate, restore and maintain your access, and is kept for the duration of the subscription and then as legal obligations require. The transfer to the United States is covered by the safeguards provided by the GDPR (the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses). Apple processes the payment under its own privacy policy.

7. App updates

At launch, the app asks Expo’s EAS Update service (Expo, Inc., United States) whether a content update is available. This request carries the platform, the app version and a random installation identifier, and nothing else. Updates of the app itself go through the App Store.

8. Reminders and notifications

The daily reminder is a local notification, scheduled on your device at the hour you choose. No external notification service is used, no token is created and nothing leaves the device. Permission is asked once, after your first completed session, and you can withdraw it in the iOS settings.

9. What the app does not do

• No usage-statistics or audience-measurement SDK. The only third party that receives data from the app is RevenueCat, for the subscription, as described in section 6.
• No crash report sent to a third party.
• No ads, no ad tracking.
• No geolocation, no access to contacts, camera, microphone or iOS health data.
• Apple may offer to share usage statistics with developers; that choice is made in the iOS settings and stays aggregated.

10. App Store reviews

After your first session, the app may show Apple’s rating prompt once. Apple decides whether to show it and handles your review under its own rules.

11. Security

Data on the device benefits from iOS protection (storage encryption, app isolation). Exchanges with Bunny, RevenueCat, Apple and Expo are encrypted (HTTPS).

12. Your rights

You have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability provided by the GDPR. For data kept on the device, you exercise them directly: erasing it from the settings or uninstalling the app is enough.

For data related to the subscription, write to contact@unbraceapp.com from the device concerned; the publisher forwards your request to RevenueCat when needed. Payment data falls to Apple.

You may also lodge a complaint with the CNIL (cnil.fr), the French data protection authority, if you believe your rights are not respected.

13. Minors

The app is not aimed at children under 13 and collects no data that could identify them.

14. Updates to this policy

This policy is dated at the top. It will be updated before any new processing is enabled; a material change is announced in the app or on the website.

This website

This website is a static site hosted by Vercel Inc. (United States). It sets no cookies and runs no audience-measurement script; fonts are served from the site itself. To deliver the pages, the host processes the usual technical details of a request (IP address, requested URL, browser) in short-lived logs.

The app demo on the home page plays a short video from the Bunny network (BunnyWay d.o.o., Slovenia), which processes your IP address to deliver it. Links to the App Store lead to Apple, which applies its own privacy policy.
